Ak-Chin Indian Community Pesticide Control Program  In EPA FY2001, Ak-Chin Indian Community applied and received US EPA Region 9 cooperative funds for development of a Pesticide Control Program  Developed a Pesticide Use Assessment  Through EPA FY2002 - EPA FY2004, Ak-Chin Indian Community continued to receive cooperative funding from US EPA Region 9

6. Ak-Chin Indian Community West Nile Virus Monitoring  CO 2 trapper is placed at site from dusk to dawn  Sites included:  Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino- Resort  CAP Termination Pond  Elderly Center  Parks & Recreation  Community Center

Ak-Chin Indian Community West Nile Virus Monitoring  EPA FY2003 – One mosquito sample tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV) from CAP Termination Pond site  Pesticide Control Program (PCP) notified Community of lab analysis result  EPA FY2004 – The Ak-Chin Health Clinic received one report of a human WNV case  ACIC PCP informed Community of discovery
