Did you know that so many people live near the volcano because its so popular in Italy and it is a landmark in Italy too. Today two million people live in the immediate vicinity of Mount Vesuvius. This mountain has erupted more than 50 times since the eruption in 79 A.D., when it buried Pompeii and its sister city, Herculaneum. After Pompeii was buried and lost to history, the volcano continued to erupt every 100 years until about 1037 A.D.

14. Tourist attraction The Coliseum Leaning tower of Pisa
The leaning tower of Pisa is one of the most favourite tourist attractions in Italy. It looks like it will fall but it is very strong and it might not fall for a long time
The Coliseum is probably the most famous landmark in Rome. Built in the 1st century AD, this great arena could seat 45,000 spectators . The name “coliseum " was not used until 7th century, and derives from the colossal statue of Nero that once stood here.
