5 US Tracker Institutional Leaders Meeting, March 1, 2005 J. Incandela 5 Schedule Outlook Parts Sensor: HPK – yields very high – quality excellent Fairly confident all Sensors will arrive by November – even if we increase order from 16400 to ~18000 Hybrids: Cicorel – quality good – yields rising Recent batches were very good Went from slightly behind the original schedule to slightly ahead The exceptionally good new batches included TOB Looks like all TOB hybrids could be in hand before Europe closes for August Module Production Open issues: Approval of Ag epoxy fix, Encapsulation Start now: 6-9 per day (30 per site this week) Following 4 weeks: ~50/w/site Following 4 weeks: ~75/w/site Steady state after that: ~100/w/site Cannot exceed ~ 60-70/w/site until multi-rod burn-in is going. Without rods, need overnight cycling in Wien box for thermal check. Gives us 5 to 8 weeks to get the rod production up to snuff.

6 US Tracker Institutional Leaders Meeting, March 1, 2005 J. Incandela 6 Planning We will focus heavily on TOB initially, with the possibility of completing all rods by early Autumn being considered. Then, UCSB will be full time TEC module production. Meanwhile, we build a team up at CERN for I&C
