2. This is my project about Gordon Lightfoot. Gordon Lightfoot is a famous Canadian singer who has written many songs over the years. He has released a lot of albums, and has written over 400 (yes, 400!) songs. I decided to do this project because I was really curious about who this man really was. I mean, I knew he wrote songs and was from Canada, but I didn’t really know anything else. The idea really sparked my mind when I heard they were doing Gordon Lightfoot songs on Canadian Idol.

Click Here Click Here to read What inspires him, and read about his ideas for songs Gordon Lightfoot was born on November 17 th, 1938, in Orilla, Ontario to Jessica and Gordon Sr. He was very young when he started performing. His parents recognized his interest right away, and encouraged him immensely. In 2002, at the age of 63, Gordon Lightfoot nearly fell into the hands of death, when he underwent emergency surgery for internal bleeding in his abdomen. He attended the Westlake College of Music in Los Angeles in 1958.

4. Bob Dylan is one of Lightfoot’s idols. And most of his highly praised songs are dealing with Canada’s history and natural splendors. His first album, Lightfoot!, was released in 1966. His popularity peaked in 1974 with his album ‘Sundown’.

12. In conclusion, I have learnt a lot about a great Canadian artist. He has blessed the world with his meaningful songs, and shall continue to rock the world with his bitter sweet love ballads, and many others.
