2 The San Diego County Library SDCL consists of 33 branches and 2 bookmobiles, serves over 1 million residents across a 4,000-square-mile county. Conferred the national 2012 Library of the Year award by Library Journal and Gale (part of Cengage Learning)2012 Library of the Year Circulated over 10.9 million books, CDs, DVDs, and other material formats Recorded 5.7 million visits to library branches Hosted 28,983 library programs SDCL's mission is to inform, educate, inspire, and entertain

Making a connection with teens to get input and buy-in Service learners design monthly teen flyers so it appeals to their age group Presenting at school assemblies and partnering with teachers and counselors to make announcements to students Work with the school district to get flyers distributed at high schools
