1 ADSP-BF533 EZ-Kit Lite (Summit ICE Connection) Installation in ICT320

2 Pre-Installation Connect the ADSP-BF533 board to the PC using the 14-pin JTAG cable (do not force, notice that pin 3 is missing on the board) Connect the ADSP-BF533 board to the PC using the 14-pin JTAG cable (do not force, notice that pin 3 is missing on the board) Power up the board by connecting the AC adapter Power up the board by connecting the AC adapter Remember the ADSP-BF533 is a 16-bit processor, make sure to use VisualDSP++ for 16-bit processors Remember the ADSP-BF533 is a 16-bit processor, make sure to use VisualDSP++ for 16-bit processors

3 Start VisualDSP++ Configurator

4 VisualDSP++ Configurator Window

5 Select ADSP-BF533 EZ-KIT Lite via Summit (for ENCM 415 Labs) and press Copy...

6 Leave settings at default, press OK (base address should default to 0x7830)

7 Selected platform should be on the right hand pane, press OK

8 Testing the Connection

9 Start ICETest Utility

10 Make sure Summit-ICE is selected as the Type, then press Start

11 ICETest Passed (green checkmarks for all items under status). Click Exit

12 Starting VisualDSP++ for the first time

13 Start VisualDSP++ Environment IMPORTANT NOTE: Hold Down Control (CTRL) on the keyboard

14 Select Blackfin Emulators/EZ-KITs under Debug Target, then select the platform you just created. Change the Session name if needed, then press OK

15 VisualDSP++ started. If there is an error box, check all connections and try again.
