17 In teaching the presentation, I plan to have the class read Cinderella in French and together we will study the 100 years war. This is the time period that the Loire Valley really came to life in a royal chateaux way. Then from there we will delve in deeper to learn about some of the more well known chateaux. This will also cover some of the interesting historical and architectural information. The PowerPoint presentation will be used to discover the chateaux of the Loire Valley. The presentation includes general basics and the backgrounds are visuals for learners who best learn via visual data. This presentation would help to cover the benchmark of understanding and knowing another culture. I think this is a fun and interesting way to cover some history and culture of France and specifically the region of the Loire. With my presentation I can visually show details of the renaissance influence on many of the chateaux. PowerPoint reaches visual and textual learners. Since my PowerPoint is not just textual it will better keep student interest. It is hard to learn about architecture and chateaux culture without visual components. In addition, this seems more effective then the 1x1.5 inch picture they generally include in standard text books. After this presentation, I may require students to do a research project on a different chateau connecting its royal popularity to the history of the 100 years war.
