2 ESSCI’s target is to train 2 million by 2022
About ESSCI Vision & Mission  Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) for skill development in electronics systems from design to manufacturing including service. The Council has been promoted by Six Electronics Associations: Financial support by: Our Vision Facilitate world class ecosystem for Industry oriented skill development in electronics sector. Our Mission To establish a structured mechanism with NSDC in strengthening the existing vocational education system To upgrade industry oriented training system for achieving global standards ESSCI’s target is to train 2 million by 2022 Objective ESSCI bring together all the stakeholders – industry, labour & the academia, for the common purpose of workforce development of Electronic sectors ESSCI works with NSDC guidelines to implement skill development in PPP model

3 Benefits of Skills Development
FOR INDIVIDUALS Skill Development can increase individuals’ employability Skill Development will get them advantage in compensation. Skills development gives people better Job roles and career growth. FOR INDUSTRY Productive man force from day 1 of joining employment Higher standards in delivering quality of service Reduced in- house training cost due to industry ready personal.

4 National Policy on Electronics (NPE)
Bridging Supply & Demand Gap Government took several measures to control imports such as enormous incentive to companies with local manufacturing capability. Government as an Enabler for the ESDM Sector National Policy on Electronics (NPE) National Manufacturing Policy (NMP) Modified Special Incentive Package Scheme (MSIPS) Setting up semiconductor fabrication units Electronic Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) Electronics Development Fund (EDF) India proportionally to built Capacity Gap to take the benefits of this exponential opportunity. 6 All this has been achieved in 1 Year!
ESSCI Today 16,000+ trainees have been trained as on date under STAR Scheme. 139 QP (Qualification Pack) & NOSs (National occupation Standards) have been prepared with industry relevant content . 14 Sub – Sector and 25 Job Roles has been identified as high potential in term of growth 20 Training Partner has been enrolled with diverse experience and presence in the country. ESSCI developed effective process for quality assessment. More than 600 batches have been trained. All this has been achieved in 1 Year!

8 Alignment of Electronics Skill Curriculum
for Higher Education AICTE Level 1-7 AICTE COURSE Refrigeration & Maintenance Air Conditioning Electronic Equipment Maintenance Pune University Pune University Course (PG Students) Business Development Executive – IT Hardware Service Engineer – IT Hardware

9 Suggestions for Initialization
The Institution & Universities are very slowly aligning to NSQF standards. There has been only few initiatives. We need to cover a lot more. The alignment to NSQF framework must happen progressively and setting our short term goal as building foundation will give confidence to achieve long term Goal. For example the achievements can be monitored as : Year % achieved 2016 40% 2017 60% 2018 100%

10 Next Step Equivalency Certificate –
ESSCI courses are made with consent of industry experts hence they are developed as per the latest trends prevailing in the market. ESSCI will need Equivalency Certificate from Ministry of HRD/ AICTE to make our courses acceptable to the Higher Education System. We need to have regular interaction with Industry to revise the course material as per requirement from time to time.

11  Thank You !
