3 OPTIMIN_H2020 » Objective ˃contribute to ensuring a stable +competitive supply of raw materials from EU sources ˃promote good governance and facilitate public acceptance ˃enhance EU efforts to harmonize national mineral policies/ plans as well as permitting and reporting on primary and secondary minerals » Consortium ˃43 Partners, 16 non-EU ˃Coordinator: Günter Tiess, MinPol (Agency for International Minerals Policy, AT): – Involved in Leoben Study “Mineral Planning Policies and Supply Practices” (2005); SARMa (2009-2011); SNAP-SEE project (2012- 2014); published two books on mineral policy (2011) The consortium responds to problems (reduced access to resources, public opposition, problematic permitting processes, inconsistent minerals policies, heterogeneous legislative frameworks, and a scarcity of reliable data) in the SIP, in line with the objectives described in Action area II.1: Minerals Policy Framework and Actions (II.1,1; II.1, 5; II.1, 7; II.9, 12; Action areas (II.2,2; II.3,1).
