CLVM Cell Line Vial Maintenance Program
4
What is CLVM Program? Who can use this? Why to use this? Let us know one by one….. This is a Cell Line Vial Maintenance (CLVM) repository provides information about the cell lines stored in liquid nitrogen cylinders. The information includes locations of the vials containing cell line of interest in various cylinders, freezing records of the vials like medium used for freezing, date of freezing, etc. and conditions used for maintenance of the cell line. Moreover, listing of the stored cell lines can be obtained on the basis of cell type, tissue of origin and species origin. It also indicates the empty positions available for storing freezing vials. What is CLVM Program?
5
Any laboratory where tissue or cell culture work is a routine activity and needs to keep a track of stock for longer period can use this CLVM software. Who can use CLVM Program? Traditionally, records of frozen vials of various cell lines are maintained in the files or record books. To search for a particular vial of interest or to check the earlier records for comparison or for stock checking, one has to screen through several pages of the book. This is very tedious and time consuming. CLVM saves time and efforts and provides more information. Why to use CLVM Program?

Cell Line details will cover Cell line Name and User Type, Tissue, Origin, Media, Percentage of Serum, Antibiotics, Conditioned media if any etc. Freezing details – Date, Freezing media, serum, User, Passage/batch, Special remarks, etc. Actual location details of Particular Vial in Cylinder, Canister, Cane/Box along with its position number.

Important Modules : Data Entry for New Cell Line along with Vial position details Cell Line Revival Various Reports – Stock frozen vials positions - cell line wise Archival Records for Revived cell lines Finding empty positions/Occupied positions in Cane/Box List of Cell lines – Name/Type/Tissue/Origin wise

This module handles data entry. The data includes names of the cell line and user, detailed information about the cell line, i.e., cell type, tissue and species, maintenance and freezing media etc. Most of the information can be added by drop down choose menu. This reduces data entry work. If multiple vials of one cell line are prepared on the same date by the same user, then option is provided to choose the cylinder, canister and position for multiple vials. ADD MODULE

Revival module provides help for revival of a particular cell line. Location of the vial and detailed information of the desired cell line can be precisely checked. Once the chosen vial is marked by entering revival date i.e. “Rev. dt” and “Revived by”, it updates record such that the marked vial position is now shown empty to add new one. REVIVAL MODULE
