Trickster tales Apollo's Tree and Arachne Homework: Bring your copy of Touching Spirit Bear (TSB) for Friday's class. Oral literature test on Monday, January 12th! Objective I can evaluate cultural values that are revealed through oral literature. Warm Up: Get your Interactive Reader book from the back. Look up the definition for CULTURAL VALUES in the glossary section of your Literature book. Copy it into your notes. Come up with 5 examples of cultural values that you think apply to our society in the United States.

Today we will be reading two examples of trickster tales. Apart from the tricks, what cultural values are revealed through the characters in each story and what can we learn when these cultural values are broken?
