Phytogeographical regions of the world
Several attempts were made to classify the phytogeographical regions of the world Schouw (1928) and Good(1947, 1964) are important. Schouw divided the entire world into 25 kingdoms- named after their most important & common plants. Kingdoms were subdivided into provinces-named after the characteristic plants of respective provinces. Phytogeographical Regions of the World

Good (1964) divided the world into 6 kingdoms. Of these kingdoms, only one has been divided into sub-kingdoms These kingdoms & sub-kingdoms were further divided into regions & ultimately into provinces. Phytogeographical Regions of the World
