2 Date of Birth: 25 th July 1972 - 42 years old Born in Thames Hospital Dad: Rodrick Bruce McDonald Mum: Cherryl Jean Rutherford Grew up in Thames at 407 Parawai Road with his brother Sean Aaron’s Mum and Dad separated when he was still a toddler Aaron lived in the family home until he moved out when he was 20

3 This is Aaron’s first rugby team, he was about 5 years old. They used to be called ‘midgets’ now they are called 9 th grade or rippa.

4 Aaron went to Parawai Primary School and then went to Thames High School. During these years his LOVE of rugby developed….. He played for the Thames Valley Roller Mills when he was 12 years old When he started High School he played through the grades. Here is a photo of him playing for the Thames High 3rd Grade team when he was 14 years old (1 year older than Ethan)

5 Troy Wood Kevin Ashworth Daniel Cameron (Cameo) Aaron left school in 1990 after he had played for Thames High Schools rugby teams tour to Asia. (Some of you might know some people in this photo!) He went working as a landscaper for his cousins business when he was 18 years old Aaron McDonald

6 After Aaron left school he went and played rugby for the Thames Rugby and Sports Club, playing in the under 21s team before he started playing for the Senior team. He broke his leg playing rugby when he was 20 years old. Aaron’s nick name is ONION, he got that because his head looked like an onion after he had shaved his hair off but left a little bit of hair on top by mistake when he was about 18years. Aaron’s rugby position was HALFBACK, No 9 He represented Thames Valley Rugby Union from 1996 -2004, then from 2010 - 2014 After getting married and having 2 children he went back to play rugby for Thames Valley needing only 30 games to get his 100. Aaron is the 8 th person in the history of Thames Valley Rugby to get 100 games, they are called Centurions.

8 The reason Aaron McDonald is my hero is because he is my DAD!!! I am proud of my Dad because he is a good rugby player and has played over 100 games for the Thames Valley Rugby Union. He has been a great sportsman, and has worked hard over the years.
