4. 工作負擔重
第一年: 高一、高二的英文教師及國三 導師，一週 22堂課，週六留校看自 修。 第二年: 辭去導師職務，任教高一、高二及 高三英文教師，週六隔週上課。 第三年: 高一、高二及高三英文教師，週六 隔週上課。

5. 修業過程 (38~41歲)
 第一年 : 3 + 2，15 學分  第二年 : 3 + 2，15 學分  第三年 : 論文，10 學分  作業從未遲交 利用白天空堂及週六、日寫報告 維持每天九點半就寢。  論文: 研二上找到指導教授(月妙老師)， 研二下開始著手實驗。

6. 論文寫作
 花費時間 : 一年半  實驗對象 : 高一某自然組班級 50 位學生  論文題目 : Using Extensive Reading and Writing Program to Promote Students’ English Proficiency (以廣泛閱讀及寫作課程提升學 生的英文能力)

8. 論文寫作  實驗過程  高一上 : Guided reading, group reading、

 閱讀量 : 8 ~ 20 本 (因人而異)

9. 成 績 單  實驗結果  閱讀量越多者，閱讀及寫作能力越強， 學測成績越優異。  因為廣泛閱讀與寫作，學生英文能力提升
　　 ，學測成績打破該校歷年來的紀 錄（該校
已多年未有英文滿級分之紀錄了。)：七
人滿級分，十人達十四級分，遠超越原本
實力更強的社會組。
備註: 滿級分者，有一人於高二下轉到社會組；十四級分者之中，亦有三
　 人後來轉社會組，他們都受惠於廣泛閱讀之課程。

10. 結 論
 一分耕耘一分收穫，教師的付出絕對可以看到漂 亮的成績單。  教師的用心耕耘，學生一生受益無窮。  廣泛閱讀與寫作同時提升了閱讀及寫作能力，是 學測致勝的關鍵。  培養出學生自己閱讀的能力，奠定終身學習的基 礎，日後他們仍然會拿起英文書籍閱讀，他們仍 然會偶而寫寫英文日記或短文，而且持續一輩子

11. 學生的回應
 S1 : Before the extensive reading program, I was afraid to read a book because I thought I couldn’t make it. However, after this program, I found it is not difficult as I had thought. I never thought I could finish reading a whole story, but I am very glad that I made it. Therefore, I will keep reading in the future.  S2: Before I started to read story books, I regarded vocabulary memorizing as a tough job. However, after reading story books, I found vocabulary acquisition could be easy through reading.

12. S3 : “Not only does my grammars improve, but also my vocabulary size is expanded. When I write, I sometimes use the phrases I learned from reading.” S4: After reading so many books, I learned how to get the gist of a book. What’s more, my reading ability is upgraded and the content of the story sometimes inspired my life a lot. S5: While writing summaries, I condensed the story and adapted the essence from the story. It made my thinking more organized and my writing improved at the same time.

13. 給學弟妹的話
 進修的必要性及對學生的責任。  教學生終身學習的能力，而不只教 他們教科書上片段的知識。  堅持到底，完成學業。莫功虧一簣。  研二開始著手寫論文，一邊寫論文， 一邊修課，才不致與學校及同學脫節。  論文寫作一氣呵成，延宕導致流產。

14. 感 謝
 感謝中正外文所為在職教師開辦此一進修 課程，使眾多教師受惠，也使我脫離教學 瓶頸。  感謝中正外文所教授們的用心，讓我收穫 滿滿，終身受用無窮。 尤其感謝月妙老師不厭其煩地指導，讓我 成功地帶出一班英文成績優異的學生，打破 學校紀錄，也在我個人教學生涯中留下輝煌 的紀錄，而受惠最多的是學生。
