3 Main Points Setup Hardware Infrastructure Establish Statewide Connectivity Deploy Browser based Applications Provide a workable model for Data Entry Central Server Linux platform Client end windows/ Linux. Open source.

4 Project Central Dedicated Server - Database, Application, Mail and Security Services Health Data Entry & Reporting Application for HMIS requirements. All applications in the Central Server – Administrative, HMIS, DDMS, etc. Network the Directorate, DMO offices and link to the central server. Data entry DMO level in the initial phase and PHCs in the next phase. Optimise Data Entry for reducing workload of Health workers Include all non-governmental health care institutions also in the reporting process later stage. Provide feedback to the reporting institutions, so that they are motivated. Provide spatial analysis capability through GIS integration. Develop/Identify Drug Distribution Management Application (DDMS) Integration of all existing computerization programmes.

5 System Architecture Highlights Central Database & Application Servers.
Browser based applications. High bandwidth connectivity to server. Leased line connectivity to all DMO’s. Dial Up access from PHC’s and other institutions. 5-10 computers at each DMO with LAN connectivity 2-5 computers at District Stores, and similar institutions* 1 computer each at PHC’s/CHC’s/Other small institutions* * Not included in this phase of the project- Future Development.

14 Data Entry Health Data module provides Dynamically created Data Entry Forms as per the programme definition Proper Validation facilities Facility for setting targets Facility for verification & certification

15 Data Entry – Typical User Interface

16 Key Features Avoid duplication of data reducing the data entry job.
Flexibility in defining Health Programmes, activities and parameters providing dynamic nature to health programmes. Indicators definable based on activities or parameters providing facility for statistical analysis. Automatic consolidation of data, reducing the work load of employees Proper Feed back to lower level, thus providing facility for comparison increasing motivation. Spatial Analysis to reveal many valuable information, which may otherwise could go unnoticed. Extensibility providing facility for data entry from any point of service

17 GIS Integration A project was submitted by Center for Earth Science Studies. Final approval for the project not received.
