From wikipedia (http://www.wikipedia.org): Streaming media is media – sound, video, text – that is consumed (read, heard, viewed), mostly in the form of clips, while it is being delivered. Streaming is more a property of the delivery system than the media itself. The distinction is usually applied to media that are distributed over computer networks; most other delivery systems are either inherently streaming (radio, television) or inherently non-streaming (books, video cassettes, audio CDs).

Movies that are intended for streaming must include a hint track so the server knows exactly how to package the media data for the network http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/hinttracks.html 3) Name the movie. Use filenames without spaces Filenames are case-sensitive (MyMovie isn’t mymovie) Use the right extension! (.mov for Quicktime,.ram or.rm for RealMedia, etc.) 4) Save the settings (video size, sound quality, etc.). 5) Publish the movie on a server! For true streaming, it must be published on a streaming server. For Flash, QuickTime VR, and other files that do not truly stream (but act like they do), publish to a regular web server.

A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual although many focus on photographs (photoblog), videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting).
