7 What is dyslexia? First described in 1895 as word blindness. In 1972 the dyslexia association was founded. Not really known why, research suggests that there are missed placed neurons in the left of the brain and extra one in the right hand side. Effects nearly 30% of the population. 4 times more likely in boys.
