4 What to Consider What kind of event do you want to hold?
What are your organization’s policies? Do you have an IGA, and what are its provisions? Will you have IT needs? What group(s) are you targeting? Do you need a certificate of insurance? Permits? Policy on sales? Additional paperwork for vendors?

5 Getting Started Making Contact -Daily partners -Get referrals
Make distribution list -Constant reminders, confirmations, special requests Think outside the box Don’t overbook Promotion! Who are the appropriate people to invite, and where do I find them? Make things easy on yourself; send one instead of 20 Play area for kids, children’s programs, PAWS, entertainers – Keep in mind that while you may have a target audience, people of all ages will attend (some out of curiosity). Give them a reason to stay!

What worked well? What ideas do you have?

Desk staff has all information Emergency basket -pens, stapler, tape, scissors, clips, scratch paper, business cards Raffles/Door prizes? Use your volunteers! Prepare for anything that might come up!

Social networking The most important words a business associate can use; Show off what you’ve done!
