2. LUX* UNDERWATER FESTIVAL 2012 Live your passion for a week full of exciting underwater discoveries. Taking place in what is known to be the ultimate diving paradise, LUX* presents the first Underwater Festival ever done in the Maldives. Diving throughout the most beautiful dive sites in the world, the attendees of LUX* Underwater Festival enjoy the unique opportunity to develop underwater skills on several levels. Meeting with professional photographers specialized in underwater subjects, the attendees enjoy free photography coaching sessions as well as embracing a deeper knowledge of the marine biodiversity of the Maldives with experts talk and the guidance of LUX* Maldives resident marine biologist. Attendees join guided diving sessions at all levels and can choose among a variety of underwater courses during the festival like free-diving or underwater fluo-night dive.

3. PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST Developing underwater photography skills through free coaching sessions with celebrity photographers, the attendees join diving trips to elaborate a selection of 3-5 best shots to be presented to the panel of judges at the end of the week. PANEL OF JUDGES Underwater professional photographers Eurodivers experts for diving, fluo night dive and free-diving LUX* Maldives team General Manager - Dominik Ruhl Resident Marine Biologist – Chiara Fumagalli FLUO NIGHT DIVING EXPERIENCE Equipped with special lights and mask filters the attendees discover the reef by night and see a totally different underwater world. The special lights and filters enable them to see what no- one else would see otherwise – fluorescent corals, fishes and other marine life. DISCOVERY FREE-DIVING Attendees join an introductory session of free-diving to learn about breathing techniques of variable length both on static apnea and in depth. Free-diving is here introduced to the attendees as a recreational sport, celebrated as a relaxing, liberating and unique experience.
