3 Blind Contour You don’t look at the paper when you draw
Focus only on the form in front of you (ex. A bottle, books, a hand) Move your pencil in the direction your eye moves. Pretend their connected. Let your linework vary. Increase the pressure of your pencil when there are shadows. Lighten the pressure when there is a highlight. Pick a point and start.

6 10/90 Blind Contour Now you can peak, but only a little.
Look at the subject being drawn 90% of the time. Look at the drawing you’re making only 10% of the time.

8 Cross contour Just like contour drawings
Instead of just drawing the outside contour (edge) of a subject, you draw the topography of a subject, even if you don’t really see these lines.

11 Implied line Again, just like a contour line, only this time it’s broken. The line starts by following a form and then stops, leaving a gap that our brains connect. You need just enough information in your drawing for this to work.

13 Sighting Sighting is a method for getting accurate proportion in a drawing. Close one eye, extend your arm towards the subject being drawn, and lock your elbow. Use the tip of your pencil and your thumb as an adjustable ruler.
