Goals for the SWIM Grant Increase the number of MLIS librarians in the four- state region Increase the number of certificated school librarians with media specialist endorsement in the four-state region Recruit Native Americans and Hispanics to the library profession Encourage professional development and collaboration among librarians

Scholarship Requirements Scholarship applications are due by March 15, 2010 1.Residency within the SWIM region 2.Not currently pursuing a MLS graduate degree 3.Agree to work for two years in a public, academic, school, or special library in a SWIM state. 4.Must be admitted to UNT/LIS to qualify for scholarship Scholarship recipients will receive: 1.80% of graduate school tuition and fees 2.Travel stipends to attend required trainings, residencies, and conferences 3.Opportunity to earn a master’s degree from an ALA accredited graduate program.
