2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow NAF has released 15 new courses in the past two years AOFAOHTAOIT 2007- 2008 Advanced Finance Financial Services Principles of Hospitality and Tourism Geography and World Cultures Principles of Information Technology Digital Video Production 2008- 2009 Business Economics Principles of Accounting Ethics in Business Financial Planning Hospitality Marketing Customer Service Computer Systems Web Design Computer Networking

2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow There are now six AOHT courses Year Released TitlesCurrent Stage 2007-2008 Principles of Hospitality and Tourism Geography and World Cultures Received annual industry review; now being updated for posting in early August 2008-2009 Hospitality Marketing Customer Service Were piloted by Fellows; now being re-written for posting in early August 2009-2010 Sustainable Tourism Event Planning Were drafted and have been posted for piloting and general use

2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow Sustainable Tourism Students explore worldwide changes in the tourism industry. Culminating Project: Hosting a Sustainable Tourism conference for invited attendees.

2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow Event Planning Students learn about the process of professional event planning, emphasizing sports and entertainment/performing arts industries. Culminating Project: Development of a realistic performance proposal for the local community.

2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow The courses are just a part of Curriculum & Academics NAF Student Certification We are teaming with West Ed to develop third-party validated certification in AOF, AOHT, and AOIT Certificate will require students to complete four NAF courses and an internship The assessment system underlying certification will include: > End-of-course exams > Course culminating project evaluations > Internship evaluation

2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow Articulation Agreements are also being developed Benefits to Academies College credits, advanced placement, or waiving of prerequisite courses for NAF students Preferential admissions consideration for NAF students University interaction for NAF students Professional Development opportunities for NAF teachers We are already in discussion with ~60 colleges and universities!

2009 Institute for Staff Development Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow Consider becoming a Curriculum Fellow to pilot new course Receive hands-on training in NAF pedagogy Meet in-person at different locations around the country (all expenses paid!)
