For over 900 years the magnificent spectacle of Caldicot Castle has dominated the landscape. Set within 55 acres of parkland overlooking the River Nedern, Caldicot Castle is an ideal setting for your Wedding Day. We invite you to hold your Wedding Ceremony, Reception and Evening celebrations in our unique surroundings. Whether you are planning an intimate gathering or larger celebration, we are sure that our magnificent Courtyard and our exciting Gatehouse Banqueting Hall will not fail to impress. A blend of heritage and splendour will make your day one to cherish and remember forever. We do, however realise that your special day should be as unique as you are. 3. A little bit of History… Caldicot Castle was first built as a fortress in the Norman times. In the 14 th Century it passed from the De Bohn family to the Woodstock’s who were next in line. It was then that the Woodstock family converted the castle from a fortress into a sumptuous residence worthy of their status. In 1855 Joseph Cobb purchased the castle and returned it to its former medieval grandeur. The Great Gatehouse was fully restored and both of your ceremony rooms are within this grand two-story part of the Castle.

4. Civil Ceremonies & Civil Partnerships There are three rooms available to hire for civil ceremonies & civil partnerships at Caldicot Castle. The Solar Room The Solar Room is perfect for an intimate ceremony and provides an idyllic surrounding to exchange your vows. The Solar Room can seat up to 40 people plus 10 standing. The Guard Room The Guard Room makes a lovely intimate space for a wedding ceremony or a drinks reception. We can light a roaring fire in the wood burning stove. This room is at ground floor level with no steps. It can seat 50 people with 10 standing. The Banqueting Hall The Banqueting Hall is perfect for a larger ceremony but equally is suited for a smaller gathering. The Babqueting Hall can seat up to 80 people, with 10 standing. The Solar Room and the Banqueting hall can only be accessed by a staircase, unfortunately resulting in no disabled access.

7. Additional Information If you wish to hold a marriage or civil partnership ceremony at Caldicot Castle you will need to book and pay for the Registrar directly. We have several caterers who we use regularly that we would be more than happy to recommend. We do however welcome a caterer of your choice, subject to the necessary H&S checks.

8. Unfortunately due to the nature of Caldicot Castle we cannot provide accommodation for the wedding party or guests. However we would be happy to provide a list of local hotels and B&B’s.
