2 HISTORY, 34 th Combat Aviation Brigade, 34 th ID The 34 th Combat Aviation Brigade’s lineage and honors trace to 30 January 1919 when Co D, 6 th Infantry was established and federally recognized. Reorganized and redesignated 1 December 1923 as Co D, 206 th Infantry, an element of the 34 th Division. Converted and redesignated 1 July 1940 as Battery D, 216 th Coast Artillery. Reorganized and redesignated 10 September 1943 as Battery D, 774 th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. Reorganized 26 November 1947 a Battery D, 256 th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, an element of the 47 th Infantry Division. Converted and redesignated 22 February 1959 as the 47 th Aviation Company, 47 th Infantry Division. Reorganized and redesignated 1 April 1963 as Headquarters Company, 47 th Aviation Battalion. Reorganized and redesignated 2 October 1986 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, Aviation Brigade, 47 th Infantry Division. Reorganized and redesignated 01 October 2005 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 34 th Combat Aviation Brigade, 34 th Infantry Division.
