Network Analysis Lecture No. 2 1Engr. Muhammad Salman

Types of Networks Unilateral Network – the networks which have elements that allows the current to flow only in one direction Bilateral network – the network consist of elements that allows the current can flow in either direction. Unilateral Network Bilateral Network 2Engr. Muhammad Salman

Series -Parallel Network 3Engr. Muhammad Salman

Series -Parallel Network 4Engr. Muhammad Salman

Current Source Current source A current source maintains the same current in its branch. An ideal current source has an infinite shunt resistance. Rs is the internal resistance of voltage or current source. A voltage source has Rs in Series. A current source has Rs in parallel. An ideal voltage source has small resistance. 5Engr. Muhammad Salman

Current and voltage source Convert fig a into current source and fig b in voltage source. And Find I L in both cases. 900 V 4.8A 6Engr. Muhammad Salman

Parallel And Series Current sources  Simplify the circuit and Find V ab  Solve the circuit into a single current source and find current through R L 7Engr. Muhammad Salman

Series Current Source Why Current Sources cannot be connected in Series? 8Engr. Muhammad Salman
