3. Poverty and Hunger Reduce by half, the proportion of people living on less than a dollar a day Reduce by half, the proportion of people who suffer from hunger.

4. Problem The progress for reducing hunger is being prevented by increases in food cost Escalating prices are driven by: Changing diets Increase in world population Economic growth Use of food crops for biofuel

5. The poor are the most affected, especially children

7. Result Malnourished children under the age of five declined from 33% in 1990 to 26% in 2006
