3  1973- Earned a Bachelors degree in Earth Science. In the University of California, Santa Cruz.  1978- Received her Ph.D. in Geology in Dalhousie University.  1985- Received her Honorary Doctorate in Dalhousie University.  1991- Earned her Honorary Degree in the State University of New York Education
