1 Section: Review predictive utility of numerical models The text I’ve provided relates to marine system models. There is scope to expand the scope, increase detail, augment with further sections, add figures. It depends on our page constraints and the key questions we want to answer. I would appreciate feedback and can address these mid August. Current sections are: Hydrodynamic models Bubble and droplet plume models Co2 chemistry Ecosystem models. An example of a dispersion plume of dissolved CO 2 from a point source impacted by tidal mixing, using the FVCOM model.

2 Section: Baseline requirements The text supplied refers to monitoring within the marine environment and is largely paraphrased from a manuscript recently submitted to the QICS special issue in the Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control: Marine baseline and monitoring strategies for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) Jerry Blackford, Jonathan M. Bull, Melis Cevatoglu, Douglas Connelly, Chris Hauton, Rachael H. James, Anna Lichtschlag, Henrik Stahl, Steve Widdicombe, Ian C. Wright It will need to dovetail with sections describing monitoring techniques, and therefore is quite hard to bottom out at the moment. There is scope to expand the scope, increase detail, augment with further sections, add figures. It depends on our page constraints and the key questions we want to answer. I would appreciate feedback and can address issues mid August. Current sections are: Chemical detection (pH, pCO2) Passive acoustics (listening for bubbles) Active acoustics (sediment structure, gas content) Biological methods (abnormal indicator species)

3 An overview of the spatial and temporal criteria for baseline data acquisition
