7 ECONOMIC INDICATORS Unemployment declining: 4.2% in July 2014, lowest rate since 2008 Foreclosures declining: 2,596 foreclosures in 2013, lowest number since 2005 Rental vacancy rate rising: 3.5% in Mpls, 2.6% metro Monthly rents rising slowly: $807 for studio, $1449 for 2 bedroom apartment in MInneapolis Racial disparities increasing

9 PREVENTION Most recent work: Coordinating with state plan around discharge from prison/institutional settings Still to do: Expand Homeless Calendar in the Court System Make prevention part of coordinated assessment system

11 HOUSING Most recent work: Youth shelter and housing moving forward in suburbs Still to do: More youth and family housing

12 SERVICE DELIVERY Most recent work: First phase of Coordinated Assessment Expansion of PHC model in community Still to do: Coordinated Assessment – inventory map of available services and no wrong door

13 SELF SUPPORT Most recent work: Additional employment services for MFIP families in shelter for second time Increase in state minimum wage! Still to do: More job training opportunities for youth

14 SYSTEMS IMPROVEMENTS Most recent work: Adult and family shelter groups meet regularly to align policies and services, SASN, Coordinated Assessment Still to do: Implementation of all aspects of Coordinated Assessment to align system

15 HIGHLIGHTS OF LAST YEAR Top 51 project completed, some funding continued Launched Stable Families Initiative Began alignment for Coordinated Assessment Passageways Emergency Shelter and Housing opened for trafficked youth 12 bed shelter for homeless youth in development in Brooklyn Park 39 studio apartments being developed in Edina for homeless youth
