“C” Rule of Pronunciation
When followed by o, u, a, or a consonant, “c” is pronounced with a “k” sound: coat, cut, cake, cluck When followed by i, e, or y, “c” is pronounced with a soft “c” or “s” sound: city, cereal, cycle
