2. Laure Manaudou is a French Olympic, world and European champion swimmer She was born on October 9 th, 1986 in Villeurbanne, in France. She has held the world record in freestyle between 200 and 1500 meter, during the years 2004-2007.

3. She won the first French gold medal in women’s swimming, for the 400 meter freestyle at Athens Olympics in 2004. She also won the silver medal in the women’s 800 meter freestyle and the bronze medal in the women’s 100 meter backstroke. She won 3 gold medals at the 2004 European Swimming Championships, and he women’s 400 meter freestyle at the 2005 World Aquatics Championships.
