2 The success of Christchurch City is intrinsically linked to a vibrant and prosperous Central City. In 2001, the Council committed itself to the revitalisation of the heart of our community through the adoption of the Central City Revitalisation Strategy. At the core of this strategy was the vision that our Central City would be a dynamic, safe, and sustainable place that was home to a strong economy, environment, culture and society; essentially the crystallisation of what we believe Christchurch is and ought to be.
