2. www.wkd-sppw.eu DETAILED GOALS  Increasing the WCR’s efficiency through the increased supply of seats in the carriage offer  Increasing the reliability of the system by replacing of the rolling stock with a modern and a brand-new one  Increasing the safety at the WCR lines thanks to implementing passenger information system and monitoring of trains and stations  Creating an image of a public transport as a modern one  Increasing the share of public transport in the overall amount of passenger transport

3. www.wkd-sppw.eu ACTIVITIES PLANNED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT  Purchase of 6 new electric traction units (ETU)  Putting in place a Passenger Information and Monitoring System (PIMS), based on GPS system (location), GSM (transfer of information) and electronic information boards at WCR stations, as well as visual monitoring at the stations and in trains  Training of the WCR personel in operating the electric traction units (ETU) and the Passenger Information and Monitoring System (PIMS)

4. www.wkd-sppw.eu RESULTS OF REALIZATION OF PROJECT High potential of this project will allow to attain substantial benefits:  Improvement of travelling comfort and its quality fof all WCR passengers  Full adaptation of the rolling stock to service disabled passengers  The increase of train accessibility for disabled passengers  The shortening of passenger exchange at halts  Integration of WCR trains with other means of public transport of Warsaw metropolitan area  The increase of transport offer at the most overcrowded line  The increase of transport safety and the passengers’ safety thanks to introduction of Passenger  Information and Monitoring System

8. www.wkd-sppw.eu JUSTIFICATION OF THE PROJECT  The execution of this project dimnishes difference between the socio- economic development of Poland and of other more developed European countries.  The project directly intensifies the development of the transport sector in the Warsaw metropolitan area by subsiding investments in the infrastructure and the rolling stock and also promoting of a sustainable public transport.  The project has also a direct impact on the socio-economic development of the Warsaw metropolitan area through the development of a public transport system, which can increase the accessibility and settlement and economic appeal of this suburban area. The second point is decrease in the level of pollution emitted by individual transport on this area.  The project is innovative for Poland due to purchased technologies, modern quality of services for customers – not known on a larger scale.
