1 Referential Topology Workshop Department of Planning - Update 8 th July 2009

2 Project 4704 Land Boundary Linkage The problem: lack of referential topology DPI’s custodial datasets are not linked to Landgate’s current cadastral boundaries; so when Landgate moves and improves, DPI stays put. The solution: Positional Accuracy Improvement (PAI) A software solution that will realign DPI’s data to match Landgate’s data now and into the future.

3 Project 4704 Land Boundary Linkage  PID produced Oct 08, funding approval Dec 08  Initial research into the solutions available and testing completed (SJ)  Software vendors trialled Bunbury test area.  Cost estimates more than anticipated.  Interim final report to Project Steering Group.  Project ready to commence Jul 09.  Tender process initiated.  The remainder of the project is to: (1) organise the orderly processing and transition of the various DPI custodial data sets and (2) prompt Landgate to escalate its Spatial Upgrade program so we optimise our opportunity.
