5 VPA Artistic Expression A 1. 1 Assignment: Analyzing Websites - Visit a total of 5 different professional and personal websites Identify the design techniques incorporated, color theory, aesthetics and visual perception Determine the target audience, and analyze the effectiveness Compare and contrast two similar industries’ websites (such as automotive) How are they similar? How are they different?

6 VPA Artistic Expression A 1.2 Assignment: Prepare an online portfolio Develop three websites for three different industries, organizations or educational institutions. Discuss the intent and purpose of the sites Use multimedia (pictures, flash, video) in designs Analyze the use of colors, fonts, images and design for the intended audience.

7 VPA Technical Requirements A 2.0 Assignment: Multimedia - Design a website for an on-campus club, department or athletic team Website will include software from the following programs: Adobe Dreamweaver Adobe Photoshop Adobe Flash Student will use current FTP protocols to transfer site

8 VPA Technical Requirements A 2.0 Hardware Technologies Incorporated into Projects Computer Digital SLR and accessories Digital Camcorder and accessories Memory card readers External Hard Drive Flash Drives

9 VPA Production and Managerial Arts C 1.0 Project: Bright Automotive Part 1. Students will be in a team that interviews an automotive industry representative. Repeated meetings, feedback and evaluation Project will require the following elements: Note-taking on initial meeting Time management Meeting the needs of the client Communication skills: via email, phone messages and face to face meetings

10 VPA Production and Managerial Arts C 2.0 Project: Bright Automotive Part 2. Students will work in a team to design a project that meets the needs of automotive executive, maintain communication and respond to requests Project will continue with the following: Presentation of ideas to executive by teams Proper dress and communication Calculation of costs - Labor and professional services Meeting the needs of the clients, response to clients questions and comments. Open and appropriate communication Use of technical skills and workflow

11 VPA Production and Managerial Arts C 2.0 Project: Bright Automotive Part 3. Students will be in a team that interviews an automotive industry representative. Continued meetings and review. Project will continue with the following: Final presentation Responsibility, organization and follow through End product, color design and use of resources Use of technical skills and workflow

12 Other CTE Foundation Standards addressed through Projects Math: Time and labor calculations. Image proportions, resolution and sizing. Spreadsheets and calculating formulas English and Communication: Grammar, proofreading, communication via letter, phone and email. Using references, and citing references. Note taking and speaking. Proper language as respect to audience Science: Problem analyzing, creation of hypothesis and theoretical problem solving Economics: Demographics, target audience, supply and demand.
