2 History Formed in 1966 Incorporated as the National Guard Executives Directors Association in Texas in 1996 Received 501(c)(3) designation in 1997

3 Mission To provide a forum for the exchange of timely information of common interest for the mutual benefit of members and the organizations they represent. To encourage and assist, when feasible, each state, commonwealth, territory and the District of Columbia to organize and maintain a National Guard association. To participate in improving the operational readiness, training and image of the National Guard on both state and national levels.

7 Officers/Executive Committee President First Vice-President Second Vice-President Secretary-Treasurer Elected Officer Representative Immediate Past President “The executive committee shall be invested with the authority usually given to a board of directors.”

8 Voting Article VIII, Section F: VOTING Voting during the conduct of business at an annual or special meeting shall be by unit rule with one vote per state. This vote shall be cast by the designated representative or alternate of the organization possessing the voting membership.

9 Standing Committees Bylaws Committee – Three members, staggered terms Nominating Committee – Five members, two of which are past presidents Insurance Committee – Five members: 2 Eds, 2 Ins Adm, 1 ED/Ins Adm Finance – Executive Committee

10 Payroll Deduction Coordinating Board (PDCB) Represent and assist states with SSLI program in all matters pertaining to the National Guard payroll deduction systems (administered by DFAS) Five members, staggered five year terms
