They also rob holiday- makers for money and expensive goods. ‘Walk the Plank’ A game or a punishment ? ‘Walk the Plank’ is a dire punishment in which the pirate must walk off a wooden board on the side of a ship and fall into the ocean full of sharks.

4. Being a pirate is fun. Fact or Fiction? ‘What were the weapons pirates used? Cannons were big artillery on ole pirate ships. Swords could be used with deadly effect during fights Guns were highly prized weapons – the pirates’ favourite! Life as a pirate was full of hardship. There was often not enough food and they often fell ill. The captain was very strict and punished pirates who broke the rules.
