What is a master plan? Creates the long-term vision for the University’s land and physical resources. Lays foundation for development plan, but is not a development plan. Provides a cohesive framework to inform site location and design of individual projects. Is a “living” document that is periodically updated. Ensures the most efficient use of resources. Does not circumvent Regent approval process, but acts as a frame of reference. Schedule: June 2010 (initial meetings) – May 2012 (Regents adoption). Several Phases: Process design, discovery phase, analysis and concepts phase, preferred concepts, draft presentation to BOR, final presentation. Numerous Stakeholder meetings: executive officers, deans, steering committee, campus planning staff, numerous meetings with program areas (academic areas & support functions), campus workshops, public forums, meetings with city and town residents, presentation to alumni groups. Goals & Considerations. Final Vision. 2012 Campus Master Plan Update
