SCORING CLARIFICATION - 1 defines that the student can complete 1 out of 5 attempts at the skill with 1 redirect and up to 5 physical or hand over hand assists. - 1 still gets a student credit for being able to perform the skill 1/5 times but with high levels of assist. - 0 means at this time the skill is beyond students level, requiring more than the 5 assists described for a score of 1.
11
QUICK TIPS (STRAIGHT FROM THE CREATOR OF SANDI) Suggestions 1). Please remember as you assess that the goal is not that all students score a perfect "4", but rather that each student has a fair and accurate reflection of his or her true skills and abilities. 2.) Identify the student IEP goal from scores of "2" or "3”. 3.) FLAG the IEP goal and identify the standard as you write your goal. 4.) Enter comments and add attachments to further describe student work.
12
HOW TO: USING SANDI TO FORM IEP GOALS Review: IEP Goals need to be 1.Measurable 2.Connected to Standards 3.Skills Based 4.Able to be measured by each class (regardless of subject/class) 721K is asking us to write 4 goals in total (not counting related services). Write a math, writing, reading, and communication goal, as per the SANDI assessment.
13
SANDI combines all of those components! SANDI questions are: Skills based Connected to Standards Measurable by Default Flag relevant questions where students score a 2 or 3. Pick 1 skill per domain to make your IEP goal, and make sure to note the standard(s) that it connects to. HOW TO: USING SANDI TO FORM IEP GOALS
