4 Onomatopoeia ( on-o-mat-o-pe'-a) Have you ever heard the sound a jacket makes when it is being zipped up? What sound does a cat make? What sound does a dog make?

5 Onomatopoeia Definition: onomatopoeia are words that sound like the objects they name or the sounds those objects make. Example:"Zip" is an example of onomatopoeia because it sounds like what it is. When you zip up a zipper the sound the zipper makes sounds like a zipper. Here are other onomatopoeia words: zip, boom, bang, slash, slurp, gurgle, meow, and woof
