2 My Experience This past summer, every time I went outside, no matter what time of day it was, I got bit by mosquito’s. It wasn’t just one or two bites, but several. Mosquito’s were a lot worse this summer than in the past summers. They are annoying and the bites are very itchy.

3 Questions What attracts mosquito’s? Why were they worse this summer? Why do the bites itch? How long do they live? Why do females get bit more than males? Where do mosquito’s live?

4 Why I chose mosquito’s for my Inquiry Project? I chose mosquito’s because they are very annoying and I’m always getting bit. My husband doesn’t really get bit, but I do. I’ve have always wondered about mosquito’s and why I get bit more than everybody else. This is something all students can relate to.

5 What students can do? They can draw a life cycle of a mosquito Students can write a story about a mosquito, from different perspectives.

6 Background Information Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: Insecta Order: Diptera Suborder: Nematocera Infraorder: Culicomorpha Superfamily: Culicoidea Family: Culicidae

7 Information Mosquito’s have four stages they go through. Egg, larva, pupa, and imago They live for only about 2 weeks
