10 HEALTH & SAFETY REMINDERS Lightning- Wait a minimum of 30 minutes before continuing play or ending the contest (suspended match or match over). AED’s—recommended for regular season contests and required for district and region contests. Florida High School Athletic Association

11 HEALTH & SAFETY REMINDERS Suspended Contest – A suspended contest shall be resumed from the point of interruption. Otherwise, USGA Rules regarding the resumption of suspended contests will apply. Florida High School Athletic Association

17 DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance- measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperature, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

18 A player who deliberately throws any piece of equipment during competition shall be disqualified (ejected) for misconduct. This action needs to be reported to the host coach/AD immediately. a.Equipment includes but is not limited to clubs, golf balls, gloves, and bags. b.The host school shall report the misconduct on the AT6 form to the FHSAA within 24 hours of the incident. c.The offending player shall be suspended for a minimum of 2 contests. 19 COACHING & ADVICE DURING COMPETITION Coaches only will be allowed to give advice under the following: Only one (1) designated team coach may give advice. No parents, players, or spectators can give advice. Parents and spectators must be at least 50 feet from golfers at all times. Florida High School Athletic Association

20 RULES OF COMPETITION Drops 1.Only the player may drop or re-drop 2.Use the correct drop procedure (may face any direction, stand erect, hold ball at arm’s length and shoulder height, drop without influencing the ball) 3.The ball must strike a part of the course where the applicable rule requires it to be dropped 4.The ball must not touch the players side before or after the ball strikes a part of the course. 21 RULES OF COMPETITION Out of Bounds (OB) Out of bounds is ground on which play is prohibited When OB is defined by stakes, fences, etc., the OB line is determined by the nearest point of the stakes or fence posts at ground level, excluding any angle supports. When defined by a line on the ground, the line itself is out of bounds. Florida High School Athletic Association

22 RULES OF COMPETITION Out of Bounds (OB) [cont.] The OB lines extends vertically upward and downward. A ball is OB when all of it lies out of bounds. You may stand out of bounds to play a ball lying in bounds. Florida High School Athletic Association

23 Boys may not participate on a girl’s team or in the girls division in the FHSAA State Series in any sport. In an individual sport, girls may not participate in the boys division in the FHSAA State Series if competition is conducted in a girls division in that sport; therefore, a school must commit to participate in the girls division of the state series to be eligible to enter female participants. 24 COACHES RESPONSIBILITIES – DISTRICTS District Planning Meeting: August 18 – August 22, 2014 District Coordinators: The host school and location must be selected for District Tournaments as well as any Regional Tournament sites that have not been selected. Official State Series Entry List Deadline: October 6, 2014 – Form generated through C2C schools District Tournaments: October 13,14,15, 2014 Regional Tournaments: October 20,21,22, 2014 Florida High School Athletic Association

25 Advancement of Teams and Individuals. Regional Tournament to FHSAA Finals. The first- and second-place teams and the two lowest-scoring individuals who are not members of the advancing teams in each regional tournament shall advance to the FHSAA Finals. Florida High School Athletic Association
