4. FOOD IN TUMMIES F. I.T. F.I.T. Pack Program -Food In Tummies  Provide weekend nourishment to children grades K-5  Aims to help hungry children by delivering backpacks of nutritious food each week to a Title I elementary school  Baty Elementary within the Del Valle ISD (which currently enrolls more than 700 students)  Children will receive packs full of healthy food along with bilingual recipe cards and nutrition tips every week for 36 weeks during the 2009-2010 school year

DONE-IN-A-DAY Done-in-a-Day  Historically, a committee of 25 Junior League members who support specific community events of short duration.  Volunteers work 4 hour shifts during concentrated half-day, one-day or two-day periods.  Placement must NOT be part of a fundraising activity.  Request related project funding up to $1000.  Submit application using the form on our website.  DEADLINE: December 1, 2009

SPONSORSHIP FUND Sponsorship Fund  Grants for events that address community issues and/or enable The Junior League of Austin to impact new segments of community population  Apply at least 60 days prior to event  Request up to $3000 once every 3 years  Form available online  Applications are reviewed by a 6 - member committee of Junior League leadership

11. PROJECT Project  Year long partnership with an agency  Six or more JLA volunteers  Minimum of 70 hours  JLA funds may be awarded

First League founded in 1901 in NYC  One of the largest leagues in the country in terms of size, dollars raised & funds contributed to the community  Over 2000 Provisional, Active and Sustaining members  Over 700 Active members volunteer at our community placements & In-League projects  Over 75% of members work outside the home in full & part time jobs

THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF AUSTIN About The Junior League of Austin Celebrating 75 Years!  We will contribute over $1.1 million to the community through the League’s community projects & programs.  Funds are raised through our two cookbooks, A Christmas Affair fundraiser, the Square on Parkcrest Shopping Center, grants & individual donations.  For 2009-2010 the League will have over 400 volunteers placed in 26 community projects.

INFORMATION General Proposal Information If selected as a Junior League Community Project, you will be required to:  Provide $1 million liability insurance  Include The Junior League name/logo in all publicity about the project  I nvite Junior League Project Chair to attend all agency board meetings of your agency as a non-voting advisor  Complete a year end report

FINANCIAL Financial Documentation Required  A copy of your IRS 501c(3) determination letter  1 copy each of: your audit, most current balance sheet and one previous & current fiscal year’s budget to actual  1 copy of your most current IRS tax return (Form 990). If your organization does not submit a Form 990, please provide an explanation letter signed by an executive officer

27. FUNDING REQUEST Funding Request Reminders  Funding is a reimbursement process.  Funding requests must be related to volunteer placements described in application. (no endowment funding)  Reimbursement requests & documentation are due 30 days after purchase  Funding is granted only for a single year.  no sales tax  funding can occur for 3 consecutive years  only volunteers can be requested in year 4  funding can resume in year 5
