2 Introduction In 2011, Thailand was suffering its worst flooding in decades. The flooding started in the north of the country and moved through central plains of Thailand towards Bangkok. Almost all central provinces were affected by the flood. The Flood caused devastating effects on millions of people and households across the country.

6 Project Proposal and Financial Assistance NCSWT received generous financial assistance from United Way of Taiwan & 7-Eleven Taiwan, Praxair Foundation, General Motors, OMNOVA Solutions and Hiroshima Japan-Thailand Friendship Association together with Thai students in Hiroshima. Main activities focused on the restoration of the communities and villages devastatingly affected by the Flood.

7 As the largest NGO in the country, National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand (NCSWT) was deeply involved in delivering Relief program for the flood victims in 9 provinces during the Great Flood in 2011. 8 The Special Committee on Flood Relief Program  Set up the Special Committee on Flood Relief Program chaired by the NCSWT President  The main objective is to decrease the hardship of flood victims and help them return to their normal life  Set up policy and action plan  Assign locations to responsible committees  Survey the Affected Areas to identify the victims’s needs  Implement and follow up
