1. Martin Luther King Dead 1929 - 1968

2. King was born in Atlanta on January 15 1929. King married Coretta Scott in 1953 and had 2 sons and 2 daughters. He organised and led a lot of protest such as the Montgomery Bus boycott and the march to Washington.

3. Yesterday on April 4 th 1968 Martin Luther King was assassinated at 6.01pm. He had travelled to Memphis, Tennessee earlier this year. We don’t yet know who shot Martin Luther, but suspicions mount on a small time thief named James Earl Ray. The man who identified Luther King’s killer is named Charles Stevens. Martin Luther King walked onto his balcony at his Memphis motel, Motel Lorraine where he was shot. No one actually witnessed the shooting, but Charles Stevens said he saw James Earl Ray leaving the bathroom he allegedly shot Luther King from.

4. The Problems with the Story The bullet from King's body was never matched to the gun The man who supposedly identified Ray in the flophouse just after the shooting, Charles Stephens, was 1) too drunk to be able to make a solid identification and 2) repudiated his own identification when shown a picture of Ray on camera
