4 4 ‘Come Dine With Me’ at York College 4 http://www.youtub e.com/watch?v=F vXZ-PO6hxE

5 5 What We Learnt The importance of group and collaborative learning and partnerships. Top-down model - teacher imparts wisdom to students vs. teacher and students learning together. Evaluation - continuous assessment of the project. Risk-assessment. Post-university?

6 6 What We Learnt It’s not a script! Lesson Plans. Knowledge (facts, figures etc.) vs. self-motivation, engagement, interest and application. Post-university - primary education? Opportunity - probably wouldn’t have done this otherwise. 6

7 7 The Project and Our Degree BA Language and Literature in Education. Modules - ‘Informal Contexts of Education’ ‘Alternative Forms of Education’. From course handbook: “Encourage students to reflect critically on the aims and values of education in society”.
