Top Ten Causes of Snoring By

Is snoring getting in the way of your sleep, relationship, and just overall life? SnoreFreeNow presents the top ten reasons why you might have a snoring problem.

Sometimes there is nothing you can do about it. Heredity is a primary cause of snoring. The inheritance of a narrow throat or small nasal passageways could contribute to your snoring. Did you ever think it was just you?

Being overweight could be the cause of your snoring. Excess weight and fatty tissue build up in your neck and throat thereby making the passageway smaller. Having poor muscle tone and lax muscles can also contribute to your snoring problem. The relaxed tissue in your throat will vibrate, increasing your chances of snoring significantly. Do you feel like you are being weighed down in life?

What you might be feeling is being a middle aged male. Men have have a higher chance of snoring than women do because men have narrower throat passages. Also, Getting older causes muscle tone in your throat to decrease, allowing for the tissue to vibrate. Are you not feeling young anymore?

Are You Sneezy, Coughy, Weezey, or All of The Above? If you suffer from asthma, allergies, or sinus problems, this could be the cause of your snoring. Several types of breathing problems can cause a blockage in nasal airways and make inhalation very difficult. This blockage creates a “vacuum” your throat, which causes your breathing to become very noisy.

Need a Smoke? Well, smoking could be the root of your snoring problem. Smoking causes nasal and lung congestion, which promotes snoring. This is because when you smoke, your throat muscles become relaxed, which causes your throat passageway to decrease in size, thereby making snoring more likely to occur.

Maybe You Should Shut Your Mouth? No, really. Being a mouth breather might be the reason you snore. Nasal congestion can cause you to breath through your mouth, the result is an increased likelihood of snoring.

Do You Like to Relax? So does your throat and tongue when you consume alcohol and some types of prescription drugs. The more relaxed tissue that exists in your mouth and throat, the more likely it is that your airways can become collapsed. As the amount of relaxed tissue increases, the likelihood of tissue vibration increases, which largely increases your chances of snoring.

How Well Do You Know Yourself? You might not know yourself as well as you think. When was the last time you admired your mouth anatomy ? Maybe never, but your mouth anatomy might be the reason you’re snoring. Having a low, thick, and soft pallet (uvula), enlarged nostrils, or oversized adenoids (tissue in the back of the throat) can narrow your airway, causing you to snore.

Your sleeping position could be the cause of that. Sleeping on your back causes your lower jaw to relax, thereby closing off the air passage and causing you to snore. Is snoring ruining your relationship?

Are You The Type of Person Who Likes to “Bring The House Down?” Or perhaps, your snoring is what’s bringing the house down… Sleep Apnea is characterized by loud snoring followed by periods of silence of ten seconds or more. If you suffer from a serious condition of sleep apnea, your throat tissues obstruct your airways and prevent you from breathing. The lack of oxygen and increased carbon dioxide you experience will signal you to wake up, which forces your airway to open. This is what creates the loud snort or gasping sound. This pattern may be repeated many times through out the night.
