2. Knowing who Jesus is leads to new life. …but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. (John 20:31)

5. Argument—Who are you? Jesus: “I am the light of the world.” Jewish leaders: “You’re tooting your own horn.” Jesus: “I don’t toot my own horn, the Father does.”

6. Argument—Who are you? Jewish leaders: “Who is your Father?” Jesus: “You’d know him if you knew me.” Jewish leaders: “Abraham is our father.” Jesus: “No he isn’t, you want to kill me.”

7. Argument—Who are you? Jewish leaders: “God is our father.” Jesus: “Your daddy is the devil.” Jewish leaders: “You are a Samaritan and have a demon.”

12. 21 st Century Friction Jews believe that Jesus was a good teacher. Islam believe Jesus is a prophet. Jehovah Witnesses believe Jesus is the first created being (an angel). Mormon’s believe that Jesus is “a” god, and we can become god’s too.

13. Warning Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am (He), you will die in your sins. (John 8:24)

14. I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I‘m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.” That is the one thing we must not say.

15. A man who said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice.

19. Who is Jesus? He is Lord …so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11)

21. Things We Can Do As a church, let’s read the book of John. Write down every statement that describes Jesus. Pray that God makes the truth of Jesus real to us.
