Tools - Draw  There are 3 tools to use for drawing.  These are found on your toolbar.

Draw – Freehand and Line  With the Freehand and Line tools, you will notice that you have 4 different pens set up for you.  You can edit any of the pens by color, style or end points.  You draw by pressing down on the pen tip to any surface and writing like you normally would.

Document Camera – Aver Record  Aver-Record captures live video.  The video also records the sound.  You can choose to record the whole screen or just the project page.

Document Camera – Aver Record You can create great lessons for your students and then record it for those that are absent and put it up online for them to see.

Student Aver Pens  Student Pens only work when they are activated.  To activate the pens drag the pen number onto the screen.

Student Aver Pens  You can only drag the student pens onto the screen that are turned on.  For example, the number two pen has been turned on in the image below.  You turn the pens on by holding down the cap at the end of the pen until the light starts flashing.

Aver-Pens Split Window  Split Screen is another tool to use with Student Pens.  Split Screen is located at the top in the Control Panel.  With Split Screen you can divide the screen into 2, 3, 4 or 6 split. 45 AverPens - Group Response System  Click on the GRS button in the toolbar to get the Voting Page up.  In order to use the Voting Page you cannot have the Student Pens active, that panel must be closed.  When turning on the Voting Page, it activates the Students Pens.  Voting will start when you click start.  Voting will finish when you click Stop.

AverPens - Group Response System  Then the Aver+ software will create a chart for that question and will post it on the screen.

Virtual Transparency Mode  When you are done, click the Return to Normal Mode button.  You can add a screen capture of what you just did to a page.  Or, click No and you will be back in Normal Mode.

OCR  Optical Character Recognition (OCR) converts the typewritten text, or hand-printed text from the scanned image or captured image using AVerVision document camera into editable typewritten text.

OK, But How Would I Use It?

I can think of... …at least 170 ways! 170 ways!170 ways! 170 Ways to Use a Document Camera

1. Share and save examples of students’ work. 2. Use the camera like a scanner. 3. Demonstrate a process in science, art, or for an assignment. 4. Project and print a copy of a page if you run short. 5. Project a live image of the class and what they are doing. 6. Time lapse photography of the class or a process. 7. Look closely at items e.g. fish scales, star fish, a hatching egg, a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, salmon eggs (we saw the embryos moving inside!) 8. Show calculators, clocks, thermometers and iPads so everyone can see. 9. Manipulate letters and words for sorting. 10. Filling out a graphic organizer. Here are my TOP 10
