2 Youth Livestock Producers Importance Washington 4-H and FFA member Exhibited 30,160 food animals at Washington Fairs/Shows in 2004: Level of ProductionImpact Beef Cattle: 4990 steers cattle will produce approximately 3,118,750 pounds of lean red meat That is enough beef to make 12,475,000 1/4 pound burgers. Swine: 8981 pigs can produce 1,332,780 pounds of pork. That is enough pork to make 21,324,486 sausage links. Sheep: 7277 lambs will produce approximately 436,620 pounds of lean red meat. That is enough lamb for 1,746,480 lamb dinners. Goats: 5974 goats will produce approximately 302,284 pounds of lean red meat. That is enough chevon for 1,209,137 chevon dinners. Dairy Cattle: 2938 cows will produce approximately 67,139,176 pounds of milk a year. That is enough milk for 134,278,352 eight ounce glasses of milk. Basically youth producers in Washington are responsible for producing approximately 20,761,736 serving of meat and 134,278,352 glasses of milk.

Swine: 8801 pigs can produce 1,332,150 pounds of pork. That is enough pork to make 21,122,400 sausage links. Sheep: 7188 lambs will produce approximately 359,400 pounds of lean red meat. That is enough lamb for 1,437,600 lamb dinners. Goats: 5970 goats will produce approximately 238,800 pounds of lean red meat. That is enough chevon for 955,200 chevon dinners. Dairy Cattle: 2731 cows will produce approximately 62,408,812 pounds of milk a year. That is enough milk for 124,817,624 eight ounce glasses of milk. Basically youth producers in Washington are responsible for producing approximately 22,051,400 serving of meat and 124,817,624 glasses of milk. ***Youth producers also exhibited 555 carcass animals (not included in above specie #) ***#’s do not include food animals raised by youth or for youth products that were not exhibited by a youth at a Washington Fair/Show Washington 4-H and FFA member Exhibited 30,977 food animals at Washington Fairs/Shows in 2007:
